Donegal County Council Public Participation Network (PPN) ** Deadline Extended**

Donegal County Council are currently in the process of establishing a Public Participation Network (PPN) for County Donegal, Donegal County Council has been requested by the Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government to establish these structures to enable the public to take an active formal role in the policy making and oversight activities of the Local Authority’s areas of responsibility.  The PPN will be the main link through which the local authority connects with the community, voluntary and environmental sectors.
Community organisations and groups are now being offered the opportunity to register as a member of the County Donegal PPN, benefits to members include the opportunity to participate in the decision making bodies of the Council, an opportunity to influence policy from the perspective of your community organisation/group and to participate in a two way communication channel in relation to Local Government policy and planning on an ongoing basis.
Among the structures that the PPN will have representatives on will be: Local and Community Development Committee, Joint Policing Committee, Roads and Transport SPC, Planning and Development SPC, Community, Culture and Enterprise SPC, Housing and Corporate Services SPC, Peace Partnership, Social Inclusion Measures Group, , Cultural Resources Forum, Tourism and Natural Resources Forum, Economic Forum, North West Regional Drugs Task Force, Donegal Youth Council, SITT and Citizens Information Service.
