About the training
This training would be particularly beneficial and suitable for Community volunteers seeking to set-up a company i.e. to protect the group and its members. Members of groups who intend to undertake the following roles within a community company – Secretary, Chairperson, Treasurer, Board member.
What the training will cover
Day 1: Setting up and forming a community company. Provide guidance on why to set-up and form a community based company. Explain what it means to be a Director of a company i.e. duties, roles and responsibilities. Explain how to set-up a company.
Day 2: Managing a community company and being on the Board. The purpose and role of a company board of directors and its responsibilities. Organising board meetings and the roles of different directors i.e. Chairperson, Secretary Current issues of importance to company directors within Ireland.
This training is being provided FREE OF CHARGE to community group representatives and lunch will be provided. The training is being provided by the Carmichael Centre who are one of the leading training providers for community and voluntary organisations, within Ireland.
The training will take place at the CAKE centre (Crossroads & Killygordon Enterprise), a community based enterprise and training facility which is based at Killygordon in County Donegal. This location has been chosen to facilitate people travelling to the training from different parts of Donegal.
