Community Health Sync Project in County Donegal aims to support people and communities to improve their health and well-being. We offer FREE support to individuals and communities who want to improve their overall health and well-being.
Please note that these classes are only for people who have not completed a health & wellbeing plan or have not attended one of our classes in the past.

This is an indicative outline of the content of our courses
Pilates Class: 4 week course- 1 hour
(4 weeks: New start date Thursday October 22nd October @ 7pm on Zoom)
Pilates or Mat Pilates (depends on age and abilities) but more than likely Mat Pilates if a mixed age group, explaining modified to intermediate movements so everyone can do a level that suits them. Working out the inner core muscles in every part of the body, nothing needed to do class, just a rug or something under you if you have no exercise mat.
Photography & wellbeing: 5 week course -1 hour
(5 weeks: Start Date Monday 2ndNovember @ 7pm on Zoom
Award-winning photographer Trevor Cole will guide you over 5 weeks on how to incorporate photography into wellbeing. The 5 ways to mental health & wellbeing will be explored each week. Each week will involve a different aspect of photography and wellbeing.
You will need a camera. The camera on your phone will be ok.
Mindfulness in Practice: 5 week course- 1 hour
(5 weeks: Start Date Tuesday 27thOctober at 11am on Zoom)
- The intention or goal of your practice
- Physical set up of your practice space
- Tailoring a practice to suit your lifestyle and temperament
- Realistic goals when meditating, i.e. small steps “I have tried but I cannot quieten my mind myself”
- Each week 15 minute actual mindfulness session.
(5 weeks: Start date Wednesday 21st October at 8.30pm on Zoom)
Beginners tin whistle classes delivered by Aoife Feeney. Aoife Feeney has made a short video introducing herself & a sample what you’ll learn at the beginners tin whistle classes.
Free tin whistle for first 15 to register.
Art for wellbeing: 5 week course- 1 hour
(5 weeks: Start date Tuesday 27th October at 7pm on Zoom)
Demonstration class starter painting.
Class 1 What is acrylic paint? Materials to use.
Class 2 Landscape.
Class 2 Still life.
Class 3 Seascape.
Classes 4 Figures in the landscape.
Class 5 Flowers.
Some of these art classes could change depending on participant feedback.
Paint, Sketch pad, brushes and palette to the first 15 to register.

Happy Heart Health: 4 week course- 1 hour
(4 weeks: Start date Monday 2nd November at 11am on Facebook)

DLDCs health project, CoH-Sync, have a team of Health Facilitators across the county who are more than happy to provide a listening ear to anyone who needs it. There are many novel initiatives being started in our communities and we can link you up with what’s available.
We can discuss nutrition, physical activity, mental health, smoking or alcohol. CoH-Sync is a project supported by the European Union’s INTERREG VA Programme, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body.
The project lead, Lorraine Mc Gowan, explained: ‘’At this time people may not want to change any lifestyle habits and that’s ok. We are here to support in any way we can. We are very mindful of staff working on the front line and those in the community and voluntary sector supporting the most vulnerable. No matter who you are and what you do, this is a time when having someone to connect with is important.
Parents trying to support children with schoolwork while juggling work from home. People living alone that can’t get out to do their usual routines. We are here to support all. So if we can support you, while you support others, by providing a listening ear, a place to vent frustrations or talk things through. We are here to listen!’’
