Training Funds
Donegal Local Development Company Ltd considered training initiatives under the LEADER+ programme during the 2002-2006 period. The training budget encompassed training and technical provision which facilitated the transfer of new know-how and technology. The specific emphasis of the programme was on rural tele-working, and projects that focused on targeted employment for the women and youth sectors.
In general, projects were considered for LEADER+ funding where the training sought by a promoter was not already provided by an existing state agency (VEC’s, Teagasc, F.A.S, CERT). DLDC LEADER+ funding could also only be drawn on when specially commissioned training was required to meet identified new needs.
Only actual costs were eligible for funding, e.g the cost of training (tuition, materials etc.). Participants could not be paid for their attendance at training, nor were they reimbursed for any personal costs involved e.g. travel, time off work etc.
Grants Available
50-100% of actual costs for individual promoters. Maximum of 50% for companies
