SUPPORT FOR BUSINESS CREATION AND DEVELOPMENT

Donegal Local Development Company Ltd will consider business creation and development initiatives under the Rural Development Programme over the 2007-2013 period. The aim of the business creation and development measure is to provide support for alternative employment and enterprise options for rural dwellers.

Projects will be considered for RDP funding which provide rural infrastructure and facilitate the development of sustainable employment.

EXAMPLES OF PROJECTS WHICH MAY BE ELIGIBLE:-

• Support for a range of assistance types for start-up and expanding enterprises including the adoption of new technologies and utilisation of the local Information Communication Technology (ICT) capacity.
• Support for innovative enterprises that exploit Donegal’s indigenous natural resources and promote locally sourced resources.
• Provision of supports for the development of employment in the craft sector in partnership with the regional craft council.
• Investment in small rural incubation infrastructure to stimulate development of innovative rural enterprises.
• Support for initiatives that add value to local products and services including collective marketing techniques and local branding initiatives.
• Foster community enterprise initiatives that promote sustainability of community resources.
