PRE-APPLICATION MEETING

At the pre-application meeting you will be invited to discuss your project with a Project Officer, who will provide you with advice and guidance on whether your project proposal might meet the programme eligibility criteria.  The Project Officer will also advise you of the information required to make a full application.

 COMPLETING THE APPLICATION FORM

To formally apply for RDP funding, a project application form must be completed by the promoter and submitted to DLDC. This application form is extremely important and will form the basis on which your project is considered for funding by the relevant decision making bodies within DLDC.

 THE DECISION MAKING PROCESS

You should submit your completed application form together with ALL supporting documentation to the Project Officer.  All applications will be appraised and evaluated by the Rural Development Programme Evaluation Panel who will make recommendations to the Board of Directors. The Board takes the final decision on all applications.

 CONFIRMATION ON APPLICATION STATUS

After a final decision has been made regarding your project by the DLDC Board, applicants will be informed of their application status.  Successful applicants will be issued with a letter of offer and contract, outlining the grant aid that will be provided. Unsuccessful applicants will also be notified in writing. Applicants should note that DLDC operates an Appeals Procedure in respect of decisions taken under the Rural Development Programme.

PAYMENT OF GRANT AID

Terms and conditions relating to grant aid will be fully set out in DLDC’s contract to the promoter. The promoter must fully adhere to these terms and conditions. Payment of grant aid will be made on receipt of ALL required documentation supporting the claim at the end of the project. Phased payments may be negotiated in exceptional circumstances, for community based projects only.
