TRAINING AND INFORMATION

Donegal Local Development Company Ltd will consider applications under this measure focusing on training in adapted and new skills for all rural dwellers and communities under the Rural Development Programme for the period 2007–2013.
Projects will be considered for funding to equip rural dwellers and communities with the appropriate range of skills and training to derive the maximum social and economic benefit from local development opportunities and initiatives.

EXAMPLES OF PROJECTS WHICH MAY BE ELIGIBLE

• In-house development of appropriate training facilities in rural areas to facilitate outreach training and distance learning e.g. provision of computer suites and conferencing equipment in community facilities.
• ICT training for women, youth, minority groups, community organisations and tourism providers including community based access to Internet and Broadband.
• Support for specialist training e.g. courses that add value to local products, small food producer training courses etc.
• Diversification training for farmers, construction workers and other displaced rural dwellers seeking to diversify into new businesses and employment.
• Provision of mentoring supports for start-up micro-enterprises.
