The Job Club - Funded by FAS - Visit FAS Website
The Job Club, which
has been delivering job seeking skills training programmes throughout
the DLDC catchment area since 2000, forms part of an integrated approach
between Donegal Local Development Co. Ltd and FAS to meeting the needs
of the unemployed in Donegal.
The Job's Club provides
training and support to participants on an outreach basis in various
locations throughout Donegal with 62% of participants successfully
progressing on to either employment, training or setting up their
own business.
The programme is made
up of formal group training sessions provided together with access
to computer facilities and an opportunity to register with other support
agencies. The duration of Job Club training programmes are from three
to four weeks and for approximately 3 – 4 hours per day with
an average of 10 - 12 participants on each programme.
During the formal
sessions Job Club participants work at developing the practical skills
of locating job leads and applying for them. Participants will have
the opportunity to examine their own skills and knowledge in light
of the changing world of work, and they are encouraged to set realistic
and achievable work goals.

Membership of the Jobs Club is free and totally confidential.An allowance of €20 per week
is given for out of pocket expenses.
