Supporting the Integration of Legally Resident Immigrants (SILRI)

About the Programme

This programme is funded by the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform under the Fund for Non Government National and Regional Organisations to Support the Integration of Legally Resident Immigrants.

The programme aims to facilitate the dynamic, two-way process of mutual accommodation by all immigrants and members of the host society and to support the formation of a new intercultural Donegal.

Consequently, we financially and practically support projects, which focus on some or all aspects of the integration of legally resident immigrants, such as the support of access by immigrants to main stream provisions, English language, IT and other training provisions and interpreting provisions as well as other activities which contribute towards the longer term mainstreaming of integration actions and services.

Moreover, we support community integration activities of a quite diverse nature and scale.

Working on a partnership, multi agency basis, we involve immigrants themselves with the planning and delivery of projects and contribute towards the empowerment of immigrants and towards their participation in society generally.

The programme covers the whole of Donegal with the exception of Inishowen and the Gaeltacht.
